I am an independent financial adviser (IFA) working at Quintet Financial since 2017. I have helped many clients create a path to secure their financial future and work towards their ideal lives. I strongly believe in client education and helping each client understand their financial plan to best suit their current and future goals.

A Little About Me

My name is Mark Gunter. I’m 37 years old and, as my clients can see from my tired eyes at the moment, I have two young children. I enjoy watching films and sports, reading, and socialising and I love being a dad.

What I Do

In broad terms, I am a financial adviser (that’s what most people call me). To be more specific, I often describe myself as a wealth adviser and financial planner. But if I break that down even further, I have three roles.

  • Life Planner – I want to learn about your life. Where you are now and where you want to be. What sort of things do you want to do between now and the day you die? This can include how you spend you normal, day-to-day life and one-off experiences you maybe want to tick off a bucket list. If you haven’t given this enough thought at this point, we’ll chat and help you get a better idea, so we know what we’re shooting for.
  • Financial Planner – You’ll help me identify all the resources available to you. All the income and and assets. We’ll also clarify all the expenditures. Not just now, but the likely expenditures that come along with anything we identified in the Life Planning. Using all the information I’ve gathered so far, I’ll build you a financial plan.
  • Financial Adviser – This involves finding the best products across the whole marketplace that suit your needs. These are things like investments, pensions, insurance, trusts, etc.

Hopefully, this gives you a basic understanding of what I do, but we will explore this later in the next posts.
